Airliners.net
Airliners.Net is a website where the user can go and view airline airplane photos free. To become a correspondent of the site, each photographer must follow certain guidelines, which mainly have to do with copyright issues.According to the website, over 595,000 photos from around the world have been uploaded at the site (as at 13/07/2004) - it lays claim to being the "Biggest aviation photo database on the 'net". Besides the photo database, it also includes such services as aviation news, a store, discussion forums, aircraft information pages, and even a flight and hotel booking service.
Airliners.net was founded by Johan Lundgren in 1996, and is hosted at Sweden's LuleÃÂ¥ University of Technology.
Airliners.net pioneered it's layout, which has been copied (both with and without permission) by many similar websites.
