Aleksandr Ivanovich Pokryshkin (b. March 6, 1913) was a marshal of the Soviet Air Force. He was made a Hero of the Soviet Union on three separate occasions (1943, 1943, 1944).

He was born in Novosibirsk. During World War II, he served as a fighter pilot in different positions, starting from the squadron deputy commander and ending up as the Air Force division commander.
