Anglo-America

For thoughtful child sponsors

The term Anglo-America is used to describe those parts of North America in which English is the main language. It should be noted that this is not a widely used term. It is generally taken to include the United States of America and Canada, although a significant proportion of Canadians do not speak English. In addition, according to the definition, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, and several other Caribbean nations belong to Anglo-America despite their geographical proximity to Latin America.

In contrast, the adjective Anglo-American is used in two ways:

Together with Dutch-speaking Suriname and the Dutch West Indies, Anglo-America can be said to compose Germanic America.
