Black cardamom

Black cardamom (Amomum subulatum), also known as Brown cardamom or Nepal cardamom, like cardamom is in the Zingiberaceae. It is used in the same way as the green Indian cardamom, but has a drastically different flavor so is not a substitute in the same recipes.
