Brescia is an
Italian city of about 300000 inhabitants situated in northern Italy in the region of
Lombardy. It was an important center since pre-Roman times and a number of Roman and Medieval monuments are preserved, among which the prominent castle.
It is the administrative centre of the Province of Brescia.
In Brescia, in the year 1535, St. Angela Merici founded the Company of Saint Ursula, a group of consecrated virgins.
