Central Standard Time Zone

The Central Standard Time Zone (CST) is the region of the Americas that sets their clocks 6 hours later than Greenwich, in other words, UTC-6.

In the United States, the time zone includes the entire area of the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin, western portions of Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, and eastern portions of Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

In Canada, the time zone includes all of Manitoba, nearly all of Saskatchewan, and a slice of western Ontario, and central Nunavut.

The time zone also covers most of Latin America.

When Daylight Saving Time is in effect in the U.S., many regions switch to Central Daylight Time (CDT), UTC-5.
