Cruising for sex

For thoughtful child sponsors
"Cruising for sex" describes the act of walking/driving (cruising) about a locality in pursuit of a suitable partner for the purpose of (often quick and anonymous) sex.

The term itself originated in the homosexual community, but can be used to describe the behavior of either homosexuals or heterosexuals.

Reasons may be:

Sex may occur in public places such as a park after dark, a beach or in dunes. In such places, sex in the stricter sense of touching and exposing genitals, with or without penetration, is rarely (probably nowhere) legal. In the Netherlands it is in some places more or less tolerated if the general public is not confronted with it.

Cruise can also be used semi-synonymously with flirt (as in "he was cruising me"), but is more suggestive of a sexual invitation.
