Crystallographic group

For thoughtful child sponsors
A crystallographic group is a topologically discrete subgroup of the group of isometries of some geometric space (typically, not necessarily a Euclidean space) with a compact fundamental domain.

For a plane, see 2D crystallographic group.

For 3D Euclidean space, see 3D crystallographic group and crystallographic point group.

See also crystallography, space group.
