Ed Dewey

Ed Dewey formed The Foundation for the Study of Cycles and devoted his life to studying cycles in everything that human beings gathered data on. He stated that everything that had been studied had been found to have cycles present. Dewey recorded thousands of cycles reports by other people and accurately measured the periods of cycles from economic, geological and biological data.

He discovered that seemingly unrelated disciplines often had the same length cycles present in them, and that these cycles often also had the same phase or timing of the peaks and troughs, a principle which he called cycle synchrony. After many years of cycles research he reported that many cycles but not all had periods that were related by small whole numbers which were powers or products of 2 and 3.

Dewey's table of periods and their relationship in ratios of 2 and 3 includes many but not all of the commonly reported cycle periods. Underlined figures are commonly occurring cycles. All periods in years.
