Extropy is a neologism intended to be the opposite of entropy. It is defined as a measure of a system's intelligence, information, energy, life, experience, diversity, opportunity, and growth, and perceived as the collection of forces which oppose entropy.

The term was coined by T.O. Morrow in January 1988. [1]

The concept of extropy is at the basis of the philosophy extropianism.
