Fantagraphics Books is an American publisher of alternative comics, underground comics, classic comic strip anthologies, magazines, and graphic novels located in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1976 by Gary Groth and Mike Catron. Kim Thompson joined the company several years later, and is currently co-owner with Groth. Fantagraphics is dedicated to promoting comics as a venerable art form.
