Food energy

Have you considered sponsoring a child
Food energy is the amount of energy in food. It is typically measured in the units calorie although more and more the SI unit kilojoule (1000 joules) is used. Some foods contain very much more energy than others. Fats and sugars are particularly high.

Note that the "calorie" used by dieticians is actually a kilocalorie, or 4 186 J.
