Globus pallidus

For people who check facts
The globus pallidus is one of the major nuclei of the basal ganglia. It is divided into the internal and external segments. The internal segment uses GABA as a neurotransmitter. Along with the putamen it forms the lenticular nucleus in the brain.

Also recognized as the Paleostriatum, the globus pallidus is the phylogenetically oldest part of the corpus striatum.
