Hardcore can refer to various different things:

- 'oldskool' hardcore: Breakbeat hard dance music mainly from the uk in the early 1990s
- happy hardcore: 4/4 happy fast dance music which grew from oldskool with influence from italy and the netherlands, usually including pianos and/or cheesy vocals.
- 'uk' or 'upfront' hardcore : modern uk hardcore developed from happy hardcore with less cheese and higher production standards
- hardcore punk: a form of punk rock
- hardcore hip hop: an aggressive form of largely 1980s hip hop
- hardcore techno: a totally instrumental form of techno
- Rubble used in building, usually to fill foundation holes, is known as "hardcore"
