Hibernia

Helping orphans the way you would do it

Hibernia is the Roman name for the Island of Ireland, which is composed of the modern-day Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom).

Little is definitively known about the inhabitants of Hibernia during Roman times. Primary contact between Hibernia and the Roman Empire came through Irish tribal expeditions that harried the Roman provinces of Britannia (Britain) and Gaul (France).

Hibernia was the name given to one of the first two railway locomotives to run in Ireland. She was built in Manchester, along with her sister locomotive, Vauxhall.
