James Cockburn

James Cockburn (1819-1883) was a Canadian Conservative politician, and a father of Canadian Confederation. He was elected to the legislative assembly in 1861 as member for Northumberland West. After Confederation he was Canada's first Speaker of the House of Commons from 1867 to 1874
