Kate Roberts
Kate Roberts (February 13, 1891 - April 4, 1985) was one of the major authors who have written literature in Welsh. She was born in the village of Rhosgadfarn, Caernarvonshire (Gwynedd today) and died in Denbigh, Denbighshire (now Clwyd). Her father was a miner, buth she studied in the College University of Bangor to become a Welsh teacher.She lived in Denbigh together with her husband, Morris Williams, and together they were running the publishing house Gwasg Gee. After her husband died in 1946, she went on running the publishing house on her own for another 10 years.
Kate Roberts wrote novels and short stories about the region where she lived in North Wales. She wrote her works in Welsh, but many got translated to other languages.
