Khabarovsk

Khabarovsk (Хаба́ровск) (population 582,700) is the capital city of the Khabarovsk Krai, Russia, some 30 km from the Chinese border. In Chinese, the city is also known as Bólì (伯力)

Khabarovsk was founded in 1852 as a military outpost. It is located on the Amur River about 800 km (500 mi) north of Vladivostok and is accessible from there by an overnight train running along the Trans-Siberian railway; rail distance from Moscow is 8523 km.
