Lisburn is a city in County Down, Northern Ireland, with a population of about 110,000. The town is predominantly unionist, but has a number of nationalist communities.
Negotiations preceding the American War of Independence between Ben Franklin and Lord Hillsborough took place at the parish of Hillsborough in Lisburn. It was made a city in 2002, as part of the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
