• Hannibal Lecter, fictional psycopathic psychiatrist created by the author Thomas Harris
• The legendary Padeira of Aljubarrota a man-like woman who helped Portuguese soldiers in the Battle of Aljubarrota (1385)

The following people are sometimes mistakenly said to be polydactyl:
