River Neva (Нева́) is 74 km long river flowing from Lake Ladoga through the Carelian Isthmus to the Gulf of Finland at the city of Saint Petersburg in Russia. The (in)famous Russian Grigori Rasputin finally found his end by drowning in this river in 1916. During the 16th century the mouth of the Neva river was the site of the Swedish fortress Nyen.
