North Somerset is a unitary authority in England, historically part of the county of Somerset but now administered independently. Between 1974 and April 1, 1996, it was the Woodspring district of the short-lived administrative county of Avon.

It borders the administrative counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and Somerset.
