Parade (ballet)

Time you got around to sponsoring a child
Parade is a ballet with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The original production had costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso and was performed by Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, the first time Picasso and Diaghilev had collaborated.

The work was premiered on May 18, 1917 at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, conducted by Ernest Ansermet. Bringing common street entertainments to the elite, it was scorned by audiences and praised by critics.
