Scion

Scion is a US-only division of Toyota founded in 2003. It currently has two cars, the xA and xB, both rebadged Japanese market cars (named ist and bB, respectively). A third vehicle, the tC, will join the lineup as a 2005 model, and is a new design based on the Japanese Toyota Avensis. Scion's goal is to attract young US car buyers into purchasing Toyota vehicles, which recently have not sold well amongst the 18-25 year old population. Scion uses sales tactics such as no-haggle pricing, trendy Internet ads, and aftermarket tuning parts to attract prospective buyers. Scion's first two cars have been met with mixed public reaction, especially the box-shaped xB, which has become a joke amongst some in the automotive world.
