Sellapan Rama Nathan

Sellapan Rama Nathan (born July 3, 1924) is the sixth and current President of Singapore. Often referred as S.R. Nathan, the President was elected on 18 August 1999, uncontested, which he succeeded the late Ong Teng Cheong.
He attended the University of Malaya (then in Singapore) where he graduated in 1954.
He was also the Singapore Ambassador to the United States in and about 1991.
