Sluis

Sluis is a municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland, in the west of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

It also comprises the settlements Aardenburg, Breskens, Cadzand, Draaibrug, Eede, Groede, Heille, Hoofdplaat, IJzendijke, Nieuwvliet, Oostburg, Retranchement, Schoondijke, Sint Anna ter Muiden, Sint Kruis, Terhofstede, Waterlandkerkje, Zuidzande and Zwindorp.

It was created by merging the former municipalities of Oostburg and Sluis-Aardenburg.

The battle of Sluys was named after this town.
