Sonny Sharrock (August 27, 1940 - May 25, 1994) was an American jazz guitarist. He collaborated with Pharoah Sanders in the late 1960s, and played with Herbie Mann and with Miles Davis. Sharrock was known for his incisive attack and for his use of horn-like lines played loudly on guitar. He was a member of the punk/jazz band Last Exit. During the late 1980s he recorded and performed extensively with the New York-based improvising band Machine Gun as well with as his own group. Sharrock was semi-retired until coaxed into perfoming by bassist Bill Laswell, who produced Sharrock's collaboration with Sanders, Elvin Jones and Charnett Moffett, 1991's well-received Ask the Ages.

Sharrock is perhaps best known today for the soundtrack to the Cartoon Network program .
