Straits of Malacca

The Straits of Malacca is a narrow stretch of water between Peninsular Malaysia (West Malaysia) and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is of considerable strategic importance, as it forms the main sea route between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
