The Superstition Mountains are located immediately east of the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. They are currently encompassed by the United States Bureau of Land Management Superstition Mountain Wilderness Area. They are accessible from Phoenix, Arizona via United States Highway 60 east and Arizona State Route 88 north.

The nearest cities to the Superstitions are Apache Junction on their west side and Superior on their south side.

The Superstitions are the home of the legends of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine and the Peralta Stones. Today they are a winter outdoor trapzing ground for residents of the eastern Phoenix metropolitan area.
