Terschelling is an island in the northern Netherlands, one of the West Frisian Islands, in the province of Friesland. It forms a municipality, with a population of 4,766 and an area of 674.00 km² (of which 584.65 km² is water; 89.35 km² is land).

The municipality of Terschelling consists the following towns, villages and townships: Baaiduinen, Formerum, Hee, Hoorn, Horp, Kaard, Kinnum, Landerum, Lies, Midsland, Midsland aan Zee, Oosterend, Seerijp, West aan Zee, West-Terschelling.

The island is known for being the only Wadden island where cranberries grow. In 1840, a barrel of cranberries (that sailors would eat to prevent scurvy) washed ashore on the island's coast, and the cranberries, finding the environment favourable, established themselves on the island. Nowadays, the cranberry fields cover 0.48 km². The cranberries are mainly sold to tourists and used by the island's restaurants.
