University of Wisconsin-Parkside

Helping orphans the way you would do it
The University of Wisconsin - Parkside is part of the Wisconsin state university system, and was founded in July 1968.

The campus is located just a few miles south of Racine and a few miles north of Kenosha. It is approximately halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago.

UW-P was founded in 1968, when the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents decided to consolidate the UW Centers (community colleges) in Racine and Kenosha and create a single four-year campus. It contains a college of arts and science and a school of business and technology. In addition to undergraduate programs, it offers master's degrees in applied molecular biology, business administration, and computer science. However, many people still think it is a two-year school.

The school has an enrollment of approximately 5,000. A majority of the students are commuters, and there is a high percentage of "non-traditional" students.

It is part of the NCAA-II division and competes in many sports including softball and basketball. The mascot is a bear, and the sports teams' name is The Parkside Rangers. The campus has a disc golf course.

The campus radio station is WIPZ.
