Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan
Sheikh Zayed Bin-Sultan Al Nahyan (Arabic:الشيخ زايد بن سلطان أل نهيان) (born 1918 is the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates.
On August 6 1966 he succeeded his brother, Sheikh Shakhbut, as Ruler of Abu Dhabi after the brother was deposed in a palace coup, and was first elected to the presidency of the UAE in 1971. He is considered a liberal ruler, and allows private media.
Sheikh Zayed is considered one of the most fabulously wealthy men in the world. A Forbes estimate puts his fortune at around $20 billion. The source of this wealth can be almost exclusively attributed to the immense oil wealth of the capital city, Abu Dhabi.
