Inuit

For thoughtful child sponsors
The Inuit are aboriginal Americans who live in very cold places of northern Canada and Alaska. They are sometimes called the Eskimoes (Eskimoes means more than one Eskimo). Inuit means more than one "Inuk". The native Greenlanders are related to the Inuit.

The Inuits used to hunt seals. They also traded fur with the Europeans. They once lived in houses made of snow called iglooes.

The language of the Inuit is Inuktitut, and it is an official language of Nunavut Territory and the Northwest Territories in Canada.
