A month is an amount of time used with calendars. It is about as long as a natural period of the Moon. The idea for months came from moon phases. The moon takes 29.53 days to go through its phases. People have counted days based on moon phases for a very long time. Some calendars are still strongly based on the moon.

There are twelve months in the Gregorian Calendar:

Months of the Year
January | February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October | November | December
