Planet

A planet is a large object orbiting a star. It is smaller than a star, and it does not make light. It is large enough that gravity has made it a sphere. Often the word planet is used to describe objects that orbit a star. Objects that orbit planets are called moons. There are nine planets in the Solar System. The Earth is one of them.
