Stonehenge

For thoughtful child sponsors
A site in England. It is made of granite stones standing in a circle. It was probably built more than 2000 years ago, and maybe as much as 5000 years ago. No-one is sure who built it or why they built it. During the summer solstice, the moon lines up with some of the stones. So it might have been a kind of calendar for the people in ancient Britain. Some people claim that it has magic powers.
